The first thing I noticed was the lace system which had been replaced with a stretchy cord and toggle. I also observed that the soles were a lot less chunky than what Hoka is known for and that the grip on the outsole was like a trail shoe or hiking boot. As the lugs are existent across the Transport’s Vibram outsole, I did not experience any debris following me in from outside. On wood or laminate floors, the traction is still present — you are not left slipping and sliding around.

The shoe narrows in the toebox slightly and the shoe fits a touch snug on first wear. It opens up a little over time. I observed it to be a little snug when sitting though, particularly wearing the pair to drive long distances. I will love to see a little more volume for a traveler shoe where cozy running performance is not required.
