Hoka Men’s and Women’s Size Chart: What Does a Size Chart Contains

Usually, a size chart contains basic guidelines to help you decide shoe size. Finding the correct shoe size for both men and women is sometimes challenging. Everybody should know their favorite brand’s shoe sizes according to their foot length and width measurements.

A size chart, for example, Hoka Barand, follows the modern way of foot sizing by inches and millimeters. On top of that, US, UK, European, Japanese, and Chinese shoe sizes. To be more specific- a man’s foot calculation is 220(MM) with a regular Width of 87(MM); this man will fit a US size 5, a UK 3.5, a European size 36, and in China 220 (MM).

Fortunately, a little effort to know your feet calculation and understand the guidelines can save time and hassle. Anyone can learn how to measure shoe size and get a fundamental idea of Hoka men’s and women’s size charts by reading this guide below.

Understanding Shoe sizes:

A mother and daughter in the same family may wear the exact number of shoes. For example, the daughter and her 35-year-old mother wear Hoka 6-size shoes. It doesn’t mean that both have the same foot size. Children and adults have different sizes, and their foot estimations differ.

It is also possible for men and women to wear size eight shoes. The men’s size eight shoe should be a minimum of half an inch longer than the women’s size eight shoe. Men’s shoes are usually longer than the women’s shoes.

Length:

The distance from the heel to the longest toe is a foot’s length. Whether the shoe is Japanese or Chinese, this distance decides the size of any shoe. However, it is not the only measuring standard. The shoe size will only be perfect if the foot width calculation is combined with the foot length.

Width:

Many shoe brands are designed only in a standard width. However, Hoka has wider and narrower sizes: AA, A, B, C, D, E, and EEE letter indicators for width. AA is the narrower size, and EEE is the wider size.

  • AA – Narrow
  • B – the average size for women
  • D – average size for men’s
  • M – Medium
  • E – wide
  • EEE – Extra wide

How to take foot measurements:

Taking foot estimation aims to find the foot type, either long, short, wide, or narrow. Let us see how to do it-

Take a piece of paper that can cover the entire length of your foot and a pen or marker. Place each foot firmly on the paper. Ask someone to help with this, or do it yourself while sitting on a chair. Mark the longest toe and mark the heel.

Draw a straight line with a pencil from one side to the other. After that, with a scaler, calculate the length and width. Now, write it down on the paper. To be more accurate, deduct 3/16ths of an inch from the length and the width. Now, this is the exact size of your shoe.

Finally, interpret the calculation in the Hoka men’s and women’s size chart. Get the perfect pair of shoes.

  • Wearing socks is better.
  • Do not wear shoes.
  • Take this measurement at the end of the day.
  • Choose a hard surface to place the paper.
  • Use inches or millimetres as a standard.
  • Measure both of the feet. It is expected to find one foot larger than the other. Use the larger foot dimension to select shoe size.

Hoka width b vs. d:

Width b is the average wide size of women’s shoes. On the other hand, d is the average wide size of men’s shoes.

Size guide comparison with  Hoka Clifton 9 and Bondi 8:

Clifton 9  and Bondi 7 are cushioned, plush, balanced running shoes. Clifton 9 has a 5 mm heel drop, whereas Bondi 8 has a 4 mm heel drop. Both shoes are true-to-fit but run slightly narrower through the toebox than Hoka’s competitors.

Clifton 9 has a comprehensive version, and Bndi has wide and extra-wide sizes available. Clifton 9’s weight is 8.7 oz, and Bodi 8’s is 10.08 oz.

Bondi and Nike comparison:

Experts advise that lower heel drop is better for a person’s natural running gait. Regarding heel drop, Hoka has a lot of variety in the lower heel, with a 6- to 8-mm heel-to-toe distance and higher cushioning.

In comparison, Nike also designs multiple lower-heeled shoes, around 0 to 12 mm, but with less high cushioning. Nike is a minimalist, traditional, lightweight running shoe, whereas Hoka is a plush and natural lightweight daily trainer.

Important information:

We should measure our feet at least once a year because our foot size changes over time due to weight gain, pregnancy, or the natural aging process. Any stretching or bugling on the shoe indicates a need for a comprehensive or extra-wide shoe.
